CLOSE THAT TAP !

The morning looked beautiful. But the thought of going to school made me hang on to the bed a little longer. My mom who usually pulls me out of the bed if I linger a bit longer, asked me to stay in for some more time. When I inquired about the sudden change in her, I found out that there was a shortage of water in the building. I didn’t know for how long the building was devoid of water, but I surely knew that within the petite hours of it, there was a big mayhem. That day, realization dawned in me, that water shouldn’t be wasted.

‘Save water’, ‘Don’t waste water’, ‘Water is precious’…yes, I’ve learnt all these in school. But never have I given a thought on how life would drive on without it. The surfed the WWW to know about the places with water scarcity. The outcome was more than shocking. One face of the earth is wildly utilizing and wasting water while on the other side; infants to adults are drinking sewage water. The videos I watched etched in my mind and shook me so gravely that I sat frozen for some time. I felt mortified to swallow the bitter reality: WE ARE A REASON FOR THIS CAUSE. Being raised in a hi-5 world, most of us have forgotten how priceless this liquid is in this world. A brick in the flushing tank and closing the tap while brushing will save gallons of water every day. That surely is a lot of water.

It would be a pure blessing if one day in everyone’s life would pass by without water. You will then realized what value water holds in our lives. So change today. Use less water. Think of the people on the other side of the earth. Think of kids drinking all the dirty water. Just place yourself in their shoes for a day and know the difference. It is time for us, the young generation to bring a change in this world. It is up to us how the world will change in the next centuries. If nothing changes your mind from wasting water, then watch the videos like I did, it will surely bring in a change. Just remember, YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
